John A. Farrell Stadium tickets & upcoming events

John A Farrell Stadium isn’t just your average sports venue; it’s a slice of Scranton’s heart and history. Built way back in 1978, it still boasts its original lighting fixtures that add a nostalgic glow to evening games. I mean, nothing beats catching a game under those vintage lights, especially during a sunset when the sky turns all kinds of orange and pink. Over the years, it’s been more than just a stadium, in 2012, it jumped into the national spotlight by promoting healthy lifestyles through local sports programs, making it a hub for community wellness. Did you know the first televised game at Farrell was in 1989? A regional broadcast of Scranton State versus East Stroudsburg, talk about a historic moment for the town. It’s also served as a fun little movie set, popping up in local commercials that showcase Scranton’s quirky charm. The elevated seating offers a killer view of the entire field, and if you’re into scenic sunsets, the vantage points are pretty spectacular during evening events. Getting there isn’t complicated either, just take a drive south from the community market along Trade Lane and turn onto Stadium Access Road, or head west from Elderly Drive and turn onto Sports Field Lane. Whether you’re here for a game, a concert, or just to soak in the vibe, Farrell Stadium has a little something for everyone, with good seats, fun events, and a real sense of community spirit.
